…Re-appoints Mele Kyari as GCEO
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, approved the appointment of board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
In a statement by the President’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, while announcing this in a statement, said the Tinubu approved the re-appointment of Malam Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer.
He said the President also appointed the management team of the corporation, with Chief Pius Akinyelure as Non-Executive Board Chairman.
The statement said, “In compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Board and Management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) with effect from December 1, 2023:”
The Board members are: Non-Executive Board Chairman – Chief Pius Akinyelure; Mele Kolo Kyari – Group Chief Executive Officer; Umar Isa Ajiya – Chief Financial Officer; Ledum Mitee – Non-Executive Director; Musa Tumsa — Non-Executive Director; Ghali Muhammad — Non-Executive Director; Prof. Mustapha Aliyu — Non-Executive Director; David Ogbodo — Non-Executive Director and Ms. Eunice Thomas — Non-Executive Director.
According to Ngelale, the appointment takes effect from Friday, December 1, 2023.
